The Narrows Environmental Education Center is located in McGough Nature Park along the Intracoastal Waterway at 11901 146th Street North,
Largo – just across the Indian Rocks Bridge, about 2 miles from the beach house. Also known as the “Turtle Park” for its abundant aquatic turtle population, the center houses owls, eagles, hawks and other animals that are being rehabilitated or cared for due to injury. Stroll the 20 acres of shady oak hammock and mangroves along the Intracoastal. Children especially enjoy the many natural turtle enclaves and the playground. Free Admission.
The nature center by the entrance features owls and other small animals being rehabilitated.. A park ranger answers questions and conducts nature programs. There are interactive and informative exhibits.
